Healing
GiCheon healing (Ki energy healing or self-cure or self-treatment) is not based on the technique. This is the fundamental rule of nature according to GiCheon: every ailment results from bad habits and innate tendencies.
No one can completely eradicate these qualities: they may recede temporarily, but will recur. Ultimately, one will be able to attain healing ability by sincerely exercising his or her inner-self, realizing and embodying the virtues of GiCheon, and performing them in daily life. When Grand master Sang Won Lee started to do GiCheon healing to his patients, he used his own inner power only. But a few years later, he saw the same patients visited him again with the same diseases he once healed earlier. By this, he realized that people wouldn't be able to be free from their ailments unless they eradicate their bad habits or innate tendencies by themselves, That's why he converted his healing mechanism to heal his patients/students and started to teach them GiCheon basic postures for their own self-awareness as well as self-healing, In nature, all living creatures are basically self-dependent, maintaining their lives with their own strength and abilities. When they don't have enough of those, they perish. However, humans have become more dependent on the resources outside themselves, thus having been weakened more and suffered from so called 21st century diseases. GiCheon SangMuWon aims to allow practitioners/patients to heal themselves through their own awareness, inner strength and energy achieved by training GiCheon basic postures.

Faith |
Although people practice the same GiCheon postures in the same classes for the same amount of time, their outcome is different with benefits. We may reason it to be physical or physiological or psychological or mental or spiritual or all or something else. But above all, practitioners' mindset is chosen to be the first. Practitioners' mindset can function as a golden key to the different types of gates closed for the mentioned reasons earlier. However, not all practitioners can have a mindset of a golden key without faith.
Faith is the most important for curing disease. Paracelsus said that faith would cure all disease. Few persons, however, possess a sufficient degree of faith - Manly P. Hall., "The Secret Teachings of All Ages: An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical", Forgotten Books (4 Feb, 2008). Practitioners need self-awareness to find faith within themselves to heal themselves or others. |
Self-Healing
|
For self-healing, most of patients should train WonBahnJang, DahnBaeGong and NaeGa ShinJang as essentials and DaeDoh for most occasions. For some extra occasions, they would need to do one or a few of the other basic postures which are BeomDoh, SoDoh, GeumGye and HeoGong.
When training alone without instructors, the most important point to keep in mind is to stay relaxed and calm which most of beginners can easily lose due to their inner hardship by GiCheon YeokGeun. |
How Self-Healing works with GiCheon training
|
Here are principles how self-healing works out with GiCheon training. Without the mentioned principles coming up in reality, self-healing wouldn't work out much.

Healing Others
Prior to healing others;
Safety matters |
When healing patients, a therapist must consider whether he/she has sufficient inner power to protect himself/herself from unintended bad energy or toxin incoming from the patients. Any type of healing activities (body psychotherapy, physiotherapy, manual therapy, massage, reiki, acupuncture, etc) may induce a therapist to lose or exhaust his/her own vital energy, resulting more fatigue or ill conditioned or even sick with no reason.
GiCheon static training will help a therapist not only get recovered from a therapy but also become less affected or unaffected from patents' bad energy. |
GiCheon healing techniques
|
There are manual techniques in GiCheon to unblock channels, help circulate energy flow and transfer one's energy to others. However, without acquiring sufficient inner power through GiCheon static training, these techniques will become nothing but a manual therapy or massage.
Above all, for GiCheon healing, one should acquire in depth experiences how to elevate patients' will of strength against any obstacle - even at death's door -, to encourage them for hardship training with self motivation and most importantly, to allow them to find faith within themselves that they can be cured by their own efforts through GiCheon training. |
